• Make sure to keep it in a secure place that no one would think of looking.

• A locked file cabinet kept in your office, a bedroom, or somewhere you know where you can get to it quickly but also put it back quickly.

• Our Password Books have a solid color on the back of our Password Books to help with security measures. 

• Should I give a Password Book as a gift? That answer is YES. Giving a loved one a Password Book will help them to be more focused, and organized. When a person is focused, it helps relieve any frustration.

• Many people do not realize this, but employers lose valuable time from their employees when they spend 15 minutes, 20 minutes or even 30 minutes trying to remember a username or password. Being locked out is a very stressful time for employees which then requires the employee to spend more time on trying to create a new password.

• If you need help speaking with your parents, reach out to these resources to find support and they may be able to help you in this matter.

• As we get older, we all have our pride, so it is important to use care as well as showing empathy to them so that they know you have their best interest at heart.

• This also comes as a responsibility. If your parents trust you, that is a wonderful compliment. Trust is hard to establish, but even harder to re-gain.

• We also encourage showing kindness, along with showing support to them while you have these discussions in a caring way.

• You have a choice on where to keep      your passwords and usernames.

• Cyber Security is on the rise, and even though it is easier to save them in your computer, it can be a risk, but it is a choice that you should make on your own.

• That is one of the reasons we created this company. Our company had our emails hacked prior to starting RE-FOCUS THE CREATIVE OFFICE. We lost over $25,000 and it could have been worse.

• We urge you to contact the Cyber Security Federal Organization. www.ic3.gov and make a report as soon as possible.

• Print out any evidence to share with the  Internet Cyber Crime Security Organization:  www.ic3.gov

• #becybersmart is the hashtag for Cybersecurity Awareness Month,  which is a reminder to always be aware.

• WHO SHOULD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH IC3?

• You should file a complaint with IC3 if you believe you have been the victim of any Internet crime. Even if you feel it is a small complaint, it may lead the FBI Cyber Crime Unit to a larger cyber act.

• You can also file on behalf of another person if you feel they have been a victim as well.

• Many people do not realize this, but sharing your passwords with your Adult Children is a very important conversation you should have.

• In fact, it is the #1`concern for Elder Law Attorney's that many adult children do not know their parents passwords or usernames.

• Should anything happen to you, it is important that you have a very detailed conversation with your adult children.

• We encourage you to share the location that you have chosen to keep your password book with your adult children so that they will not be burdened with trying to deal with  legal issues should anything happen to you. Trying to find important documents in your computer or phone can be stressful if they are not aware of where you keep this information.

• We encourage you to speak with organizations like AARP, AAA, NAMI, etc. on how to have calm  conversations with your loved ones. 

• You might also speak with your Attorney and let them know your  plans or the location.

• By having these plans in place, you can have ease knowing that your children will be aware of how to handle your estate with your Elder Law Attorney.

• We recommend changing your    passwords every 60-90 days.   In addition, we recommend changing your usernames every 60-90 days.

• One other security measure is to set      up a two step verification. We realize     it is an extra step, however it is an important step you should take to  protect your privacy.

• Use a black ink pen to cross out old passwords or use a new page for new passwords and usernames.
